January good stuff...

2012 has been a great year so far.. As I'm writing this 18 days in. ;) A little optimism never hurt anyone.
Our trip to Vegas turned out to be really fun. Of course, we managed to miss our plane from Houston to Las Vegas while literally sitting directly across from the gate. wow. I've had better moments. All we could do was laugh about it though. Bc really, who does that? We watched our plane push away before we even thought, wait...is THAT our flight??

I have listed the top ten things I now know about Las Vegas:

1. They do not do last calls for connecting flights to Vegas ( "they" being continental slash United depending on who didn't want to be responsible at the time)
2. The Cirque Du soleil(sp?) ppl cannot be human..they are like super human.
3. There are a LOT of expensive stores in Vegas
4. Louis Vuitton does not allow the customers to drink beverages in, around or near his purses. (I honestly don't even know if Louis Vuitton is an acutal "he" either)
5. Casinos literally pump coconut fragrance through the vents. Not sure what psychological effect this has on casino goers, but I'm sure the research has been done.
6. Women who work in Vegas do not wear a lot of clothing.
7. People stand on street corners passing out dirty pictures to literally "anyone" who will take them. eeeek.
8. You can easily get lost in the Venetian. And not be able to get out. ;)
9. I enjoyed the best meals of my life while in Vegas
10. DO NOT wear 4 inch heels to grab dinner and walk the strip. You will change. I promise. Bring the flats. Or better yet the New Balance.

Jim and I had a great time together and I now can say I've seen the lights of Vegas!

Holiday

Sooo...after the Christmassy New Yearsy last few weeks Jim and I talked about planning a short weekend trip before school starts back for me on the 9th. We thought about something relaxing and chill. Turns out, all of the relaxing and chill places were either booked by all the old folks or non-existent. Somehow someway, it led us to Vegas! Yes, relaxing and chill...vegas? haha! Well maybe not, but I am super stoked as I've never ever been to Vegas. I am intimidated by the city, but I think my curiosity has finally got the best of me. We found a great deal on expedia. We leave Thursday and come back late Saturday night. So, Vegas regulars, any tips on things we just have to see/do?? I am excited about the Beatles show and eating. Yes, I am excited about eating. ;0) As I'm certain there will be plenty of photo ops, I'll post pics when we get back. Hope everyone had a great holiday!
